CES 2012
Wishing everyone a great time at CES 2012. We are taking this year off. Jeff is busy in the development phase of several new projects that just aren't ready to be revealed. Looking forward to sharing them with everyone next year. Check out these pics for a peek at some of the new finishes.

Memories and Acknowledgments from CES- 2011
People who attend CES expect to see things from a fesh perspective - whether that is a new product, a new thought or a new approach. This year Jeff collaborated with several other vendors to provide a clean and contemporary approach to incorporating the open reel tape decks into today's sound system.
Using the Vivid K1 Loudspeakers, the Luxman L-550A II Integrated Amplifier and Kubala-Sosna Cables our J-Corder tape decks provided the ultimate source for some great music.
Also featured was a display which showed the transformation of how an original deck with all its wear is taken down to bare metal and brought back to life with a new and distinct finish. That display featured the new Bird's Eye Maple Finish done by Uta Klingele.
Other new items this this year included the color coordinated headblocks, the jeweled knobs and our new Pro-Reels.
CES attendee, Michael Hsu, admitted to being of a generation who is not familiar with the open reel tape decks. He found it hard to believe that analog technology of yesterday could produce a sound better than the digital world of today. Michael challenged us to an A/B comparison using all the same equipment except for the source; his iPod compared to a recording from his iPod made on a tape using a J-Corder tape deck. Jeff did not have blank tape so he erased a tape to use to record from Michael's iPod and create a taped copy of what we were listening to on the MP3. We have only made tapes from CDs and were just as curious about the results as Michael. It was unanimous everyone in the room agreed that the tape recording from the iPod had less bite and sounded smoother, warmer, and fuller than the iPod (even with a previously used tape.) Michael, thanks for the challenge it was a fun comparison!
A special thanks goes to
Philip O'Hanlon from On A Higher Note for the use of the Vivid K1 Loudspeakers and the Luxman Integrated Amplifier. And to Joe and Howard from Kubala-Sosna Cables for the use of the cables. Your contributions added to the panache of this year's demo suite.
