Venetian Suites
With a prime location and fantastic music our demo suite was buzzing.
While we were there we had the opportunity to do some afterhour demos in other suites. One of the suites featured a $750,000.00 system. When we played our J-Corder with one of our show demo tapes the room came to life. Some people said that it sounded "smokin' hot" - and it really did. We have always wanted to hear what one of our machines would sound like on a real expensive system, and now we know... SMOKIN' HOT!
We used this show to feature our upgraded headblock, spectrum analyzer and new VU meters.
The new headblocks are color coordinated to the machines and the heads are all relapped and laser aligned. The relapping and alignment are done by John French at JRF Magnetics.
All of the machines that we used to demo inlcuded our upgraded record/play amplifier. This is what gives us 6-8 db of additional headroom. This will enable you to literally pin the VU meters during recording with no distortion. This makes any background noise nearly non-existent and makes the tape very vibrant. People are amazed at how quiet our machines are in between songs and during quiet passages.
The spectrum analyzer can be used to tweak the sound on playback, particularly when playing older recordings. It can also be used during the recording process to help correct very poor material that you may be using as a source. As a finishing touch they add a cosmetic appeal to the deck.
The new J-Corder VU meters come color coordinated but more importantly the meters are larger and cleaner, making them easier to read.

Laurence Dickie, Designer of the Vivid Speakers, and a friend walked a pair of high end speakers across Las Vegas Blvd. The speakers were used in a demo suite at the Venetian and they wanted to use them at a cocktail party at the Mirage. How else would one transport them?
